Game Reports –February 5
Close exciting games....

First morning game was the Bruins and Stars.  These two teams have a history of high scoring games but not this time.  The game was full of scoring chances both ways but the goalies were coming up big.  It was the second period Star’s #15 Carter getting his first goal and the game opening goal off a rebound from #3 Ryan. The Stars than went up by two goals with a second goal by #12 Cody.  From there it was all goaltending delight.  The Bruins pulled their goal in the last minute but weren’t able to press pass Star’s goalie Owen. The Star’s #3 Ryan seized an empty goal in the final seconds. Great goaltending by Bruins Christopher and congratulations to Owen on the shut-out.

Game two was the Habs and Leafs.  Some stunning goaltending by Alexander (Habs) and Melanie (Leafs).  The scoring started with the Leafs #8 Zachary, which was answered by Habs #8 Hunter.  The Leafs pick-up two more goals one by #6 Scott and #3 Jesse (assisted by #14 Reggie).  In the final minute the Habs pull their goaltender for the extra attacker but time ran out and the game ended 3-1 for the Leafs.

Game three had the Flyers and Penguins in back to back series. Again goaltending held the scoring down with the first goal not coming until the third period. It was the Penguins #11 Bryce getting the goal.  Penguins #12 Owen followed up with a second goal. In the last minute we watched in anticipation of the Flyers Goalie leaving the net to apply the extra attacker, but it didn’t happen. When Flyers Coach Tony was asked why he didn’t try for the extra attacker he answered “why would I do that.”

It was a very exciting morning of close game.
