Alliance House League Championship
This past weekend was the Alliance house league championship with the Cambridge Penguins representing the Peewee division. Cambridge started out against Kitchener on Thursday. Cambridge fought back in the third period to claim a 2-1 victory behind a strong goaltending effort from Benjamin Gruhle and some timely scoring. Next up for Cambridge was St.Catharine's.

Another tight game saw the Penguins score a late second period goal from Liam Turchin and solid back checking from the forwards gave the Penguins a 1-0 victory. To end the round robin Cambridge would play Brantford. Try as they might the Penguins couldn't solve the Brantford goaltender and were on the short end of a 1-0 loss. Cambridge finished up with a 2-1 record good enough for first place in their division and a semi-final date with Sarnia. Cambridge came out flying and built up a 4-0 lead against the highest scoring team in the tournament. Goals from Nicholas Gruhle, Mathew Murphy, Alexander Izbitski, and Liam Turchin paced the Penguins to a 4-1 win. London would prove to be the last hurdle for the Penguin in the finale Sunday afternoon. Once again Cambridge took the play to the London Thunder team early which paid off in a late first period goal by Nicholas Gruhle. Persistence paid off again in the second as Jake Brubacher would put Cambridge up 2-0. With a stifling defense and the hard work of all forwards Cambridge claimed a 2-1 win and Alliance Championship for Cambridge. A total team effort was needed, and with 9 different Penguins scoring and all 11 players recording at least 1 point the effort was given. Cambridge gave up just 4 goals in 5 games against the best Alliance had to offer
