A "Semi" Good Weekend In Kitchener
Feeling energized from last weekend, the Hawks rolled into Kitchener for the Blueline Tournament and powered their way through the round robin, only to be stopped short in Sunday morning's semi final against the Ottawa Jr. 67's.

The Minor Bantam Hawks faced the Quinte Red Devils first and came away with a 3-2 victory, and then tied the Welland Tigers 2-2 later on Friday. Bright and early Saturday morning action against the Soo Thunder, the Hawks scored early and often on route to a 5-3 win, and then had a thrilling last minute, 2-1 win over the Farmington Flames.
This lead to the Sunday semi against Ottawa. The game was fast and furious and great fun to watch. Both teams were moving well and making great plays. A quick shot found the back of our net first, but the Hawks rallied and fought back to gain a 2-1 lead. Ottawa tied up the game late in the second period and the scored remained that way until the end of regulation time.
Three-on-three sudden death was to be the decider and it didn't last long. The Hawks made a rush that was followed by an Ottawa rush. A shot from their defence was tipped in high, and the game was over.
As disappointing as it was to lose, it was great to see our boys back in the hunt. Keep it rolling guys, you've got it in you.
