Great Effort Boys!
Hawks lose series, but they showed why they made it to the Bristol Championships. In a year filled with ups and downs, theses Hawks will be remembered for their ability to rise to the challenge. They played one game all year with a full squad, and played with 10 or less since Christmas! Those that were in the games, never quit and had more ice time than they could ever imagine! In fact, many times, you would hear a player tell another player to stay out for another minute! Injuries, suspensions, flu... nothing kept this team down and it was no surprise that they found a way to win their way to the Bristol Championship series.
The first two games ended in ties, then they split the next two games..which lead to the game 5 showdown. With 3 minutes left, the Hawks were down 4-2 but never quit and closed it to 4-3 with 1:20 left.... they could not find the net with goalie, Ruf, on the bench and had to settle for the 4-3 loss.
