Another Great WIN!
The boys did it again! They kept us hanging on until the last six minutes of the game.
The Hamilton Huskies slipped a goal through several players and past our goalie early in the game. For two periods, the score remained the same. Hamilton:1 - Cambridge:0...
Then, with only 5 minutes left in the game, Adam set up Aiden to score the tying goal! That got us parents fired up, and the cheering started in earnest. Cowbells and tambourines. And lots of yelling, GO HORNETS!
Only 21 seconds later, Dre took the puck through the Huskies and popped another one in the net. I had flashbacks of our last win! Now, we parents could relax a little, we were in the lead. But the game wasn't over yet.
With less than 3 minutes left in the game, AJ tucked one in, to give us a more comfortable lead. The parents were out of their seats! What a game! Way to go Hornets! They team is really pulling together, and learning to support each other and play together. And they deserved that win.
For the record, our fantastic defense only allowed 3 shots on our net, while we got 11 shots on theirs.
As a side note, parents, if you know who helped set up some of these goals, please let us know. The refs didn't record assists for two of the goals. Please email Keith if you can supply any assisting players.
