Hawks Drop Pair to Division Leaders Over Weekend
The Bantam Hawks had their toughest test of the season to this point over this past weekend when they faced the East leading Huron Perth Lakers on Saturday before taking on the West Leading Sun County Panthers on Sunday.

On Saturday the Lakers attacked right from the get go and were rewarded with a quick 3-0 lead just 9 minutes into the game. The Hawks were never able to gain any momentum in this one and were constantly frustrated by the steady pressure the Lakers applied. The game ended in a 6-1 Laker victory with the lone Hawk goal coming from Austin Spiegelhalter. Assists went to Parker Wood and Alex Takacs.
On Sunday there was a complete reversal. This time it was the Hawks taking it to the west leading Panthers right from the start. With a strong forecheck, hard work and constant pressure, the Hawks were forcing errors and turnovers resulting in a 3-1 Hawk lead heading into the third period. However, the Hawks ran into penalty trouble early in the third period and the Sun County Panthers showed why they are the team to beat in the Alliance. They capitalized on 3 power plays in a span of four minutes to take a 4-3 lead. Sun county added another late goal resulting in a final score of 5-3. Scoring for the Hawks were Austin Sine (2) and Spiegelhalter. Assists went to Wood, Alex Black, Jake Wilkinson, Tyler Gagne and Brett Wilson (2)
The Hawks next see game action Dec. 27 in the Burlington Golden Horseshoe tournament.

Here's wishing all families a Merry Christmas and safe holiday!!! Go Hawks!!
