Hawks Drop Pair Over Weekend
After a fairly successful holiday tournament in Burlington the Hawks took to the ice this past weekend for two games. In the first, the boys faced what looks like their likely first round playoff opponent; the Kitchener Rangers.

Although this was a fairly tight checking affair, both teams had ample opportunities to score some goals. The Hawks trailed in this one 1-0 after two periods but stormed out in the third, They were rewarded only 36 seconds into the period when Parker Wood's point shot beat the Ranger goalie high glove side. Assists went to Austin Sine and Jake Wilkinson. After the Rangers took the lead 2-1 with under 4 minutes to play, the Hawks pushed on. With Goaltender Hayden Padalino out in favour of the extra attacked the Hawks had several great chances in the final 30 seconds but just couldn't manage the equalizer.

On Sunday the Hawks played London Gold. Despite London starting out strong and controlling much of the early play, the Hawks didn't give up many good scoring opportunities. This resulted in a 1-1 score after the first. Scoring for Cambridge was Nathan Bastian with Paul Morra adding the helper. Play evened out in a second period that saw both teams trading goals once again. Tyler Martin scored for the Hawks when his point shot founds its way to the back of the net through a heavy screen. Bastian and Alex Ritchie were credited with assists.  Hence the score was 2-2 heading to the third. London took the lead 3 minutes into the third and added another in the last minute of play to skate away with the 4-2 victory.
