Bantam Hawks Hold Skills Comp.
On Sunday the Bantam Hawks made like the pros and held their own version of the NHL's All Star skills competition. The day opened with the fastest skater competition. Taking the honours in this event was Jacob Younger who completed the lap in 15.18 seconds. Finishing second with a time of 15.36 seconds was Tyler Gagne who just clipped third place finisher Alex Black who recorded a time of 15.37 seconds.

Next came the hardest shot event. Finishing in first with a shot of 83 MPH was Alex Black. Tying for second and third place with shots of 78 MPH respectively were Levi Walker and Mitch Montgomery.
The team then moved on to the accuracy shooting portion of the competition. The winner of this event was Brett Wilson who nailed all 4 targets in a time of 14.71 seconds. Alex Ritchie was second burying all 4 targets in 18.11 seconds and Jacob Younger was third hitting all 4 in a time of 19.15 seconds.
The team then headed to the stick handling portion of the event. The fastest negotiator of the course was Tyler Gagne who managed to finish in a time of 20.07 seconds. Right on his heals was Alex Ritchie finishing only .02 seconds behind in 20.09 seconds. Third was Nathan Bastian with a time of 20.30 seconds.
Next came the elimination shootout. Both goalies made some big saves in this one but it came down to Alex Ritchie and Tyler Martin. It was Ritchie who ultimately buried the winner and thus taking this event.
It was good to see all the boys put forth their best efforts in the various events; most of which had very small differences in results from top to bottom.
