Hawks perfect to start season

The Cambridge minor atom MD Hawks started their regular season with an impressive eight straight wins.

After a close home-opening 5-3 win over Kitchener Red, the team registered four shutouts in a row over the Hamilton Spitfires, Hamilton Phantoms, Kitchener Blue and Waterloo Timberwolves, scoring 20 goals in the process.

The next three wins were over the Waterloo Ice Wolves 7-3, Burlington 4-3 and St. Catharines 4-1.

Recording the shutouts were goalies Ashton Moreira and Benjamin Bates.

Exceptional defence has been provided by Kaiden Gignac, Braeden Tavares, Jason Green, Liam McGinnis, Justin Luis and Tyler Avelar.

All forwards have contributed to the 40 goals scored thus far. The forwards are Dylan Farrow, Matthew Cummings, Anthony Duarte, Zach Schneider, Gillis Haskell, Xavier Moura, Nic Lirette, Matthew Mueller and Ethan Gill.
