Hard Work And A Night Out For The Moms And Dads
Friday Nov. 16th the Hornets hit the ice for there 1st session of all out Power Skating. It was a gruelling hour yet the kids worked through it, building and working diligently on there already improving skating skills while Coach Ed and Coach Andre put our goalies to work. With the Kitchener Ranger Selects a week down the road the kids muscled there way through and pushed hard right through too the very end and looked forward to Saturday nights practice.

Saturday night the kids hit the ice again for another high spirited practice that really focused on 1 on 1 defence and offence, as well as passing and receiving a pass on the fly. The kids worked super hard at being able to operate at full speed to really put any future opponents on there heels. Some detailed work was also done to establish a much stronger forcheck enabling the kids to fight for more puck possession, end zone pressure as well as offensive zone puck cycling.

I want to send out a big Thank-You to Coach Ryan and his wife as they hosted a Parent get together that same night after practice. It was a great night as we all got to know one another a little better, shared alot of laughs and had a great time. George St.Pierre was on the big screen for everyone to bask in his glory as he won another UFC bout to protect his Heavyweight Title. I have truly seen that we have a great group of supportive, positive and friendly parents who are all here for this great group of kids. Lastly, I want to send out a huge Thank-You to my amazing Coaching Staff, you guys are all truly first class coaches, but more importantly first class people. It is going to be an honour to work with you guys this season. And to my wife Kathy who is now doing all of the Managerial Hockey Team work that is alot of work and not as fun as the on ice work, Thank-You for keeping me organized. And anyone whom I may have left out, Thank-You !!!!

To the rest of the Hornets, I am proud of you all, you have all worked so very hard so far, lets all keep striving to get better and have a whole lot of FUN while WORKING HARD to achieve our Team Goals.
