Minor Atom AAA Hawks take Bronze in Peterborough!!
The Minor Atom AAA Hawks travelled to Peterborough this weekend to play in the Pat Larock Memorial Tournament.
The boys started their weekend with a tie against the Ottawa Sting. After a hard battle in game 2 the boys fell 2-1 to the Toronto Titans. The boys never gave up and came out on Saturday with back to back wins against the Central Ontario Wolves and the undefeated Ajax/Pickering Raiders which secured our spot as top seed in our pool.
Sunday morning the boys had a rematch against the Toronto Titans in the semi – final game and were down 4-2 with one minute to go. Despite putting everything they had into the early morning game and battling hard to tie the game with 39seconds left, the boys fell 5-4 after a final push by the Titans.
Our Hawks moved on to the bronze medal game where we then faced the Oshawa Generals. Once again it was a tough fought game however, this time the boys were victorious and came out of the tournament bronze medalists!!!
The boys never gave up all weekend and played some amazing hockey against some very tough teams!!
