Looking up
Well after a tough first week the team held together and improved dramatically in their defensive game. Although the boys hard work was not rewarded with a win the prospects looking forward appear great.
There are 3 very strong teams in which we will inevitably have to compete against at the Alliance Championships. Kitchener, Waterloo and Burlington.
Each of these teams are well coached and play strong team games.
It's for that reason that the 2-0 loss to Waterloo and the 3-1 loss to Burlington are seen as positives.
The boys fixed a lot of their defensive gaffes and appear poised to start scoring.
It's imperative that the boys remember that they had been together for less than 3 weeks when facing oppositions who had been together much longer and played quite a few more games. With time the boys will mesh and become one cohesive unit.
As a coaching staff we're very pleased with how quickly the boys have picked up our few defensive strategies.
It's unfortunate that our game against Oakville was cancelled (and now rescheduled) but it does allow us time to regroup and set some short term goals before our next batch of games.
Think positive boys things are improving.
