                                                                                                                         NOVEMBER NEWSLETTER

Welcome one and all to the November issue of the Cambridge Bantam Flyers.

October was a busy month for us. We didn’t start off on the right foot by letting the first three game slide through our skates. But the boys rallied and we are now on the right track or rink.

We had a good turn out to the skating at the mall and hope to add some more activates in the near and far future.

In the past few weeks Lynne Haskill and I have been busy putting together an exhibition game between us and our practice partners (the Penguins) in the big smoke on November 21. We have finalized the numbers and between us and the Penguins we have about 85 people. More information will be forth coming so please keep an eye on your “screens.” Please note that the cost is a mere $30/person/ticket.  No ticket means no entry into the arena. So if you have bought your son a ticket, and you did not make arrangements with another parent, then you will not be allowed in the building to watch neither the exhibition game nor the Marlies game.

Also, we are still collecting money and players for the two tournaments.
The first tournament is in the booming city of Bradford on January 15-19 2016. If you are not sure where Bradford is, it is located between Barrie and Newmarket. Please contact myself or Lynne to sign up for this great tournament. If you have other commitments then please let us know that you won’t be attending so we can fill the vacancy. If you are interested in staying overnight Shawn will be booking the SUPER 8 in Barrie. The cost is $129/night for a two night minimum. You do not have to stay in the hotel since it is possible to drive back and forth.

We are also going to a tournament in Niagara Falls on March 14-20. The cost is $46/player. Again, if you have previous commitments then please let us know so that we can fill the void. More information will be coming.

As you may, or may not have heard that there is a team building ball hockey game scheduled for Sunday November 15 at 1:00pm at St. Michaels School. It is on Concession Road in Preston just up from our game and practice facilities.

One last item to deal with. We are getting name bars put on the jerseys at a cost of $10/player. We will be collecting the jerseys BEFORE practice on Saturday night, so PLEASE BRING A SECOND JERSEY, we don’t want to send out sweaty stinky jerseys to the Bowmans to get nice clean fresh names on them. So if you could have them washed and dried that would be great.

This is really the last item. If anyone has an idea for team building and would like to arrange it we are open to any and all ideas. Also if you would be interested in helping Shawn behind the bench (not that he needs it) I am sure he could use the assistance.

On behalf of the Flyers staff thank you for your support and hope to see you at the rinks.
