Sunny day for Hockey
The Hawks travelled to Brantford to face off against the 99ers.  It was a beautiful spring-like day.  Not your typical day to be at the rink.  The sunny weather brought the Hawks some good vibes and they were able to walk away with the victory 6-2.

Aidan Bryans looked strong in net for the Hawks from the very first face-off.  Bryans has a quick glove hand and the 99ers had a difficult time beating him.

The Hawks were down defenceman, Luke McConnell, as he was recovering from the flu.  Trenten Gillies was moved back to defence to take McConnell's spot on the blue line with Ben McGowan.  The pair played well together and read each other well.  They covered for each other, and it was like they had been playing together all season.

Alexavier Deeb got an unassisted goal to get the Hawks on the board.  Two minutes later, Nolan Branco scored for the Hawks, assisted by Carter Whissell and Connor Gignac.  It's nice to see the Hawks play well with any players they are paired with.  They are taking their game to a new height.

The second period saw two more goals for the Hawks.  The first, Branco's second goal of the game, assisted by Jackson Kent and Trenten Gillies.  Next, Connor Gignac scored, assisted by Liam Westwood and Alex Hammer.

The Hawks scored two more in the third.  Justin VanderVelde had an unassisted goal, and Trenten Gillies scored from the blue line, assisted by Connor Gignac and Ben McGowan.  It's great to see these boys moving the puck around so much.

The Hawks were strong defensively once again.  Andrew Corbeil and Cameron Koehler were doing a great job clearing the puck and getting it up the baords to waiting wingers like Ryland MacPherson and Ben Hedges.
