The Hawks have put in a lot of hard work this year, and have been rewarded with a spot in the final four. The first game in this best of three series started in Hamilton.
Hamilton came on strong right from the first puck drop. They were hungry for a win, and the Hawks just weren't hungry enough.
Down 6-0 with 10 minutes left in the game, the Hawks were finally able to get on the board thanks to a goal from Jackson Kent. Connor Gignac led the play, bringing the puck down the ice and passing to Ben Hedges in the corner. Hedges then threw the pass out front to Kent who was parked in front of the Huskie's goalie.
The Hawks got their second goal of the night from Nolan Branco, unassisted.
