BIG Weekend Plus BREAKING NEWS!!!
The final two games of the round robin series start tomorrow afternoon as our beloved HAWKS travel to Burlington for a big bounce back game against the Bulldogs and then home on Sunday to face the Waterloo Wolves which will finish off the Tier 1 round robin.

With final 4 in their sites one would hope that the HAWKS are geared up for a BIG weekend!  Speaking with head coach Craig McLaren he feels as though the boys will be ready to go.  "You know, this is kind of uncharted territory for most of our players.  In the last 3 years that my son has played on this team, two of those years we finished near or at the bottom of the standings.  Not only are our boys learning how to compete this year but they are also learning how to win.  We have talked many of times about playoffs and how 'good' players elevate their games to be 'great' players in the playoffs and that is one of the reasons why we are sitting in the top 4 going into this weekend.  Last Sunday we got back to HAWKS hockey and we just need to keep it going"

One thing is for certain is that the coaching staff is focussed on making it through to the first series going through the front door.  "We don't want to win on a technicality" indicated associate coach Neil Fewster.  "Right now there is a chance that Hamilton can tie us in the standings, my thoughts are that we would move on because we beat them 2 straight in the round robin but it sure would be nice to be in charge of our own fate and just win.  Not only does it give us a small hope of catching a potential home playoff series if the other teams ahead of us lose but it is also key to be playing at the top of our game going into a best of 3 series.  I know the boys can do it, they just have to believe in themselves!"

These HAWKS definitely have an excited coaching staff who appear to be fully backing the ability and character of their team!  I believe there is a saying the coaching staff has been discussing with the HAWKS since they started their playoff run...in order to achieve ya gotta believe!!  I know I am a believer!  This is one of the most exciting HAWKS teams I have covered in years.  It sure is going to be loud in Burlington this weekend and even louder back home on Sunday for the HAWKS final home game of the round robin!  C'mon HAWKS fans, lets get loud!!!
