Saturday's Win
With their regular season winding down, the Hawks played one of their last home games at Dickson Arena on Saturday night.  It was a lop-sided game with the Hawks beating St. Catharines 13-0.

The game saw every single Hawk contribute on the score sheet.

Reggie Gignac earned his second shut-out in a row in the victory.  He played a strong game, making the saves when needed, and staying awake and focused the entire time.  These games without many shots are sometimes the worst ones for the goalies.

With Ryan Silva out with injury, Tyler Caswell stepped into centre and the Hawks ran with just 5 defence. .  The game saw a few other changes as the score raised.  Ryland MacPherson played defence for periods 2 and 3, while Matthew Klassen moved up as a winger.  Ben McGowan and Lucas Sousa both moved back to D in the third, and teammates Liam Lapierre and Michael McIntyre moved up to winger and centre positions, respectively.

The Hawks started the scoring two minutes in.  Justin Vandervelde had the puck behind the net and through it out front to MacPherson who walked in and roofed it.  The second goal saw Andy Quarrie stop a clearing attempt by the Hurricanes and Michael McIntyre picked up the puck, walked in and hammered it in.  The Hawks third goal in the first came from Lucas Sousa.  There was a battle in front of the net and Quintin Douglas came out with the puck and chipped it to Sousa.

The Hurricanes kept the Hawks off the board for the first half of the second period, but then Sousa got his second and third goals of the game, and Quintin got his second assist of the game.  The Hawks ended the second with a goal by Camden Schaefer.  Schaefer went five-hole and was assisted by both linemates - Caswell and Quarrie.

In the third, the Hawks got goals from Nevin Noble, assisted by Michael McIntyre; Michael McIntyre assisted by Parker Campbell and Ben McGowan; McIntyre assisted by Justin Vandervelde; Vandervelde assisted by Klassen; Quarrie assisted by Ryland MacPherson; and Nathan Lahey assisted by Camden Schaefer.

The Hawks final goal of the night went to Matthew Klassen - his first goal of the season!
