Bob Stark Tournament
The Hawks Novice White participated in their first tournament of the season as they travelled to London to challenge in the Bob Stark Novice Tournament. This fun filled weekend contained unscripted team bonding and continued learning experiences. The Hawks continued to progress on the ice and showed the coaching staff that they are fine gentlemen off the ice as well.

The London trip began with a hard fought loss to the home town and eventual tournament winners Oakridge Aeros. The early morning game proved difficult to overcome as the the Hawks were unable to find there skating legs until the later part of the game. Ultimately the Aeros lead was too much to overcome.
After the game the Hawks gathered as a team and showed their respects as they visited the Cenotaph in Downtown London to witness the Remembrance Day Ceremony as part of Canada 150.
The Afternoon game versus the Whitby Wildcats was a penalty laden affair and although the Hawks played inspired for the first half of the game they fell short to the well rested team from Whitby. This game guaranteed the Hawk would participate in the "C" finals on Sunday.
The rested Hawks continued to build on their solid team effort Sunday morning and the bounces came their way, as the Hawks were able to open up a quick 2-0 lead on the Newmarket Redmen. The highly emotional finals were a back and forth affair ending with the Hawks withstanding a final minute of the Redmen pressuring with a 6 on 4 advantage to win 5-4.
This weekend contained pre and post game dance parties, mini stick tournaments, selfies and great conversations as they continue develop life long friends.
The Hawks learned some valuable lessons this weekend that will serve them throughout their hockey careers and beyond. The coaches were very happy with the commitment to what they have been taught in practice along with the way the they carried themselves throughout the weekend. This was a great building block on the season and will they will be able to draw upon these experiences.

To our Hawks parents, thank you for your participation and consistent support this weekend. It was great to hear the "Go Hawks Go" chants and all your words of encouragement this weekend! The weekend can be summed up two ways for us, the first is "Thank You Uncle Felix from St.Lucia" and the other #cheapmarketingstunt

GO Hawks GO!
