Hello HAWKS fans!
The HAWKS started the weekend against Burlington Bulldogs but came up on the short end of a 5 to 2 loss. HAWKS goals scored by WHYTE and SHEWCHUK.
The next night the HAWKS travelled up to the Kitchener Rangers Red team, the HAWKS came out fighting but unfortunately came out on the losing end. BENDER was able to tally twice for the HAWKS but we ultimately fell 6 to 2 to the Rangers Red team.
Sunday night the HAWKS welcomed the Hamilton Huskies to the Galt Gardens, we struck first with GALVAO slipping one past the goalie giving the HAWKS a 1 to 0 lead. Hamilton then tied it up at one with a late goal to end the first period. Our HAWKS then ran into some penalty issues resulting in the Huskies taking a commanding 4 to 1 lead. O’BRIEN scored with 0.9 seconds left in the 2nd period making it 4 to 2 heading to the final frame. WHYTE was able to strike on a breakaway narrowing the gap to 4 to 3. WHYTE then buried the puck a couple mins later to tie the game up and the crowd went crazy! Huskies then took the lead back 5 to 4 with a couple mins left. The HAWKS pressed with the goalie pulled but were unable to slip one by the Husky goalie.
The HAWKS have showed great improvement over the 3 game stretch and are hoping to continue the trend moving forward. Next game will be on Friday at 715 at Parkdale Arena versus the Hamilton Husky Black team. See everyone at the rink and GO HAWKS!
