HELLO HAWKS FANS

Our HAWKS began the weekend travelling to the Pat Quinn Arena in good old steel town on Saturday.

We came out a little sluggish and fell behind 2 - 0 early. The HAWKS kept pushing though and made the score 2 to 1 heading to the third on a goal by SHEWCHUK.  ARMSTRONG provided the HAWKS with the equalizer and we had a game on our hands but the Huskies scored to make the game 3 – 2.  We had some chances but were unable to even the score. The Huskies added an empty net goal to make the final 4 - 2 for Hamilton.

The following day saw our HAWKS head to the first place Waterloo Wolves Den.  In a gritty game right from the drop of the puck our HAWKS proved that they were not going to fold vs the team that had dominated them all year. Through 2 periods the score was even at 0 - 0 on great goaltending from FERNANDES and the hard work provided by all HAWKS. In the third, the hot hand of ARMSTRONG struck again as he fired a shot over the goalie to put the HAWKS up 1 – 0.  The lead was not held for long however as the Waterloo team scored one of their own seconds after. SHEWCHUK added to the score as he blew past the Waterloo defenseman and HAWKS were back up front 2 – 1. A suspect trip resulted in the Wolves going to the power play and they evened the score at 2 late in the third. The final buzzer sounded and our HAWKS tied the first place team from Waterloo in one of the most exciting games of the year! Every single HAWK played hard and tough!

4 more games are left in the current schedule so let’s finish strong HAWKS and put a couple more exciting games together.
