The Penguins and Flyers met in the first game.
The game was back and forth with the Penguins putting a lot of high shots to the Flyers goalie. This gave the Penguins the advantage on the scoreboard as they tallied 6 goals to the single Flyer goal. On the score sheet it was Penguins #11 Bryce and #9 Adam with two goals each with Adam also getting two assists. Also contributing to the goals was #15 Kyle, #13 Christian with a goal apiece, Kyle with two assist. Assists coming from #4 Ty and #3 William, #14 Brandon. The Flyer goal by #4 Brett, assisted by #9 Christopher. The Penguins won 6-1.
Second match up was the Habs hosting the Stars. The Habs took a 3-0 lead by the middle of the second period with a natural hat-trick by #12 Jordan, assisting on two of them was #6 Ryan. The Stars pick-up two goals by the end of the second, both by #3 Ryan, with assists by #10 Theo and #5 Nathan G. The third period scoring started with the Habs #8 Hunter assisted by #9 Cole. The Stars #16 Owen answered assisted by #9 Jacob and #13 Alex. The Hab’s #12 Jordan pick-up his fourth goal of the game and the team’s fifth goal unassisted to keep the lead. The Star’s Ryan (#3) bank the fourth goal to bring them within one, assisted by Theo (#10). With a minute left the Stars pulled their goal and kept the pressure on the Habs but weren’t able to tie the game up. The Habs won 5-4.
The Leafs came up against the Bruins in the third match of the morning. It was Tyson (#15) of the Leafs opening the scoring in the first, assisted by #8 Zachary. It wasn’t until half way thru the second period when the Bruin’s #7 Christopher answered with an unassisted goal. That was it for scoring for the second period. The third period was a different story with 8 goals. The Bruins went up 2-1 with a goal by #5 Brandon, assisted by #30 Zachary. From there the Leafs charted 4 goals in four minutes by four different players. Scoring was #6 Scott, #3 Jesse, #15 Tyson and #8 Zachary (who also assisted on Tyson’s goal). From there the Bruin’s answered with two goals in the last two minutes by #14 Dre. However the Leaf’s #15 Tyson replied with his hat-trick goal in the finishing seconds to regain a two goal lead and win 6-4.
