Habs have a blast in the Oakridge Aeros Tournament
Please read the appended great article by the Habs Assistant Coach Rich Corriveau.

This past weekend, the Habs were off to London to participate in the Oakridge Aeros House League Classic, their first and only tournament of the season. In their first game, the Habs gave up a couple of early goals but never gave up and managed to come back and make it difficult for North London 33 to take it by a score of 6-4. In their second game of the tournament, the Habs played their best game ever, beating West London 13 by a whopping score of 8-4. Connor Short and Alex Moon each recorded a hat trick, in fact Connor potted 4 goals, three of which in a span of 58 seconds. It was truly a sight to see! The Habs' final game resulted in a 6-1 loss to Barrie Skate Zone. Jackson Soucie, Habs goalie, kept them in the game making several show-stopper saves and the score really didn't reflect the team's performance.

It was evident that the boys truly enjoyed participating in the tournament despite not making it to the semi-finals as evidenced by the amazing celebration after their final game where they all tackled their goalie, Jackson Soucie with pride. Sure the Habs didn't win the tournament, finishing 6th out of 10 teams after the round robin but I'm sure the boys will remember this weekend for a long time to come. We're proud of our record and of the fact that we did it all on our own.

It turns out that the three teams that the Habs played in the round robin ended up in the semi-finals. Considering these teams were strong enough to move on to the semis shows the level of competition that the Habs faced so a record of 1 win, 2 losses with 13 goals-for is quite impressive!

On behalf of the coaching staff, the players and their parents, I'd like to thank Leanne Short, Habs Team Manager, for organizing this tournament for the Habs. Without all your hard work, none of this would have been possible. If there was a trophy for best Team Manager, you would take it, Leanne! Thank you!!!
