U11 AAA Tryout Information
Welcome to the U11AAA tryouts!  I am thrilled to be the head coach of the U11 AAA Cambridge Hawks.  Tryouts start on Saturday April 20th, 2024.

We have two sessions on Saturday.  As you can see from the schedule, we have a busy week in front of us.  More information below.

How do I check in and how do I get my tryout jersey?

When you arrive on Saturday morning, there will be someone at the front desk to check you in and provide you with a tryout jersey.  If you have not registered or paid for tryouts, you will not be permitted on the ice.  Please ensure you have proof of payment & registration in case there is any discrepancy with the list provided by the CMHA.

Do I need a permission to skate form?

All zone players (Hespeler, Ayr, Plattsville) must have their Permission to Skate form from their local association, as well as be registered and paid for tryouts through CMHA. The Permission to Skate forms will be checked at registration.

I am trying out from outside of the Cambridge zone, what documents do I need?

  • Proof of registration for the tryout
  • Proof of payment for the tryout
  • F1 waiver
  • Without the proper documentation, the player is not permitted on the ice.

Who will be evaluating?

Tryouts will be evaluated by a group of independent evaluators as well as myself.

How many tryouts will my child be guaranteed?

All zone players and goalies are entitled to a minimum of three tryout evaluations as per CMHA policy. Players outside of the Cambridge zone, can be released after one tryout evaluation.

How will I receive tryout updates about releases, game lineups etc?

All updates will be given through the U11AAA team website.

From being a parent in the stands and a player on the ice, I know tryouts are a stressful time for all involved.  If you have any questions about the process, do not hesitate to reach out to me.  I am looking forward to seeing you all on Saturday.  Good luck!

Coach Howie
