Cambridge Hawks Welcome our U11 AAA Coach
Cambridge Minor Hockey welcomes our U11 AAA coach for the 2024-2025 season, Howie Martin.
Howie comes to us with an impressive hockey career under his belt.
Howie has over 8 years of semi-professional hockey experience - playing 5 years at the major junior level in the OHL for teams such as the Owen Sound Attack, Brampton Battalion, and Sudbury Wolves, as well as varsity level on a full scholarship. Howie signed a 30-day player tryout contract with the Toronto Maple Leafs (NHL) in 2005 after being ranked 248th on the NHL draft list.
Howie has over 10 years combined years of coaching and trainer experience through Cambridge Minor Hockey, Hespeler Minor Hockey, and inter-school athletic programs where he has been involved with a multitude of various teams. Not only is Howie a leader through coaching but he has been an elementary school educator for over 11 years, and a Principal of a private school for the last 6 years.
Howie's goal for each of his players this upcoming season is to see them grow both as players and as people. He wants to develop young men that learn both to play but also to love and respect the game of hockey.
