Cambridge Hawks Welcome our U13 AAA Coach
Cambridge Minor Hockey welcomes our U13 AAA coach for the 2024-2025 season, Chris Wismer.
Chris is a veteran coach with Cambridge Minor Hockey having coached in the CMHA system over the last 9 years on various teams including the U12 AAA for the 2023/2024 season. He has also been an assistant coach with Kitchener Midget AAA team and the Cambridge Winterhawks before their transition to the current Redhawks.
As a player, Chris played pro hockey for over 12 years including in the IHL, AHL, ECHL, and UHL as well as with the OHL in Owen Sound for 4 years. He attended training camp for 2 years with the San Jose Sharks and has a successful playing career as a defenseman.
Chris's focus is on the development of strong individuals skills and the knowledge of playing within a system to learn and understand the game of hockey. He aims to have his players come together in a team environment to learn to work together to accomplish their goals.
To Chris, success is not measured on wins and losses but the smiles on faces, the love and passion for the game, the willingness to learn, and the ability to overcome challenges by understanding what it takes to achieve this. Chris asks his players to be the best they can in everything they do, to never give up, and to strive to be successful not only in sport but through life experiences.
