Dear players and parents,
I would like to welcome all players and parents to this year's Cambridge
Hawks Minor Atom AAA Tryouts. This article is to inform everyone involved about
the tryout process. Please refer to the tryout schedule for all session dates and times, posted at

Releases will begin after the 2nd tryout, and after each subsequent tryout. Notification of a release will be made via this website. There will be NO releases made after the first tryout. Player lists for each game will be posted on this Home page as well.
During the tryouts, players will be evaluated on the following:
Skating ability, Hockey skills and knowledge, Work ethic, Attitude and behaviour, Coachability, Intensity
Players should be reminded that evaluations begin the moment they walk into the arena. The players will be observed on their behaviour both on and off the ice. All I ask is that each player give a full effort on the ice and listen when instructions are given. If a player is not sure of any instruction, please ask any of the instructors on the ice. Lastly, good luck and HAVE FUN!!!
Being on a AAA travel team requires a high level of commitment with practices, games & tournaments. At this time, we are unsure of exact days for practices, however, on average we will have 2-3 practices and or development sessions per week and 1-2 games/week. We also plan to register for 4-5 tournaments throughout the year including one U.S.A tournament (Nations Cup).
Being on a travel team also comes with an added cost to your initial CMHA registration. Team costs such as travel carding fees, tournaments, development & extra ice time will be at an additional cost. A cost of approximately $2000/player is anticipated, before fundraising.
