The Minor Bantam AAA Hawks had a job this weekend. They needed to get three points while hoping that Windsor got none. Windsor did their job, so now it was up to the Hawks.
To get the first two points, our guys played Hamilton at home on Friday night at Galt Arena. They skated to a 5-0 win, which was exactly as the doctor ordered. For the final game of the regular season, the Hawks needed one point to secure the fourth and final playoff spot. Unfortunately it would be against some stout competition in the form of the Waterloo Wolves. The boys played their hearts out and with a minute to go, with the goalie pulled, the needed only one goal to tie the game. It would have been enough. But it was not to be. The Wolves broke free and scored an empty net goal to win 3-1 and dash our playoff hopes. Great effort guys.
