Week Nine Results
This weekend we had 5 games in the division that saw some great team efforts and some great individual stories.

The Devils headed in to the weekend still undefeated in the season and had a pair of games.  On Friday night they took on the Sharks as part of the OHL experience.  The game was exceptionally close with the lead changing hands four times.  The Sharks had one line that was firing on all cylinders: Matthew Corriveau (3g, 1a), Logan Lajoie (1g, 3a) and Carter Lynch (3a) - Corriveau even scored on a penalty shot.  However, in the end the Devils put the game out of their magical hat in overtime no less thanks to a goal by Conor Jones (2g, 1a).  They were able to keep close during regulation thanks to efforts by Josh Kublek (3g, 2a) and Daniel Hernanadez (1g, 3a).

On Saturday the Devils took on the Senators in another back and forth game, where the game was tied on three separate occasions.  By the final buzzer the Devils just proved too strong, skating away with a hard fought 7-5 win and they remain undefeated this season.  A pait of Devils recorded 4 points: Justin Willsie (2g, 2a) and Conor Jones (2g, 2a).  The Senators relied heavily upon one line for their offence to keep the game close: Cam Bonneville (2g, 3a) and Tyler Spiegelhalter (2g, 2a).

The Blackhawks also played a pair of games this weekend.  On Friday, as part of a series of exhibition games versus Waterloo teams, they took on the Lightning whose roster was laden with Select players.  The game proved exceptionally tight and was pressure filled.  Nonetheless the Blackhawks prevailed 3-2 thanks in large measure to solid goaltending by Sean Kennedy and substitute Atticus Vaz and some offensive punch by Dylan Corrigan (1g, 2a).

On Saturday the Blackhawks locked horns with the pesky Penguins.  Early on the blackhawks put the pressure on and were rewarded with a three goal lead but the Penguins pushed backwith a pair of quick goals.  From there they traded goals till the Blackhawks scored on the final play of the game to record the 6-4 win.  The Penguins heroics came from Chase Machin (2g) and Nick Delegianis (2g, 1a).  The Blackhawks offence on the night was powered by a familiar face in Dylan Corrigan (2g, 2a) and received timely additions from Bryn Palin (2g, 1a).

The final game on Saturday was yet again another close game that went back and forth, ending in a 6-4 final.  The Hurricanes put up a good fight thanks to efforts by Tyrus Morissette (2g) and Cam Faragher (2a).  Indeed, they looked the better team for extended periods of the game.  The Sharks, however, were more proficient with their chances.  In contrast to their Friday night game, the offence this time came from their other line.  Alex McAllister recorded 4 goals, including the always rare natural hatrick and Jesse Hilker (1g, 2a) was a force as well.  An interesting side note on this game was that the Hurricanes Linzee Brodhaecker showed up late and had to borrow an elbow pad from the same player who lent a helmet last week to a different player in need - once again, the same result, a goal.
