Playoff Round 3
This weekend fans were treated to three different types of games.

In the first match of the day the regular season first place Devils hooked up with the high scoring Blackhawks.  The Devils defence, as it has been all season, was stingy.  Josh Wettlaufer and Evan Kilpatrick, in particular, were effective all game long in angling the opposing players off and closing the gaps.  Still, the game belonged to the Blackhawks.  Not known for their defensive game, they held the Devils to just 5 scoring chances.  Offensively Gage Rud (3g, 1a) and Dylan Corrigan (1g, 3a) provided all the fireworks the Blackhawks would need in a 4-0 win.

The second game between the Hurricanes and the Sharks saw one of the gutsiest performances of the year.  Due to March break holidays the Hurricanes started the game with 6 skaters and a goalie, and mid way through the first an injury meant they had no spares at all.  Tyrus Morissette, Dylan Hall, Jacob Brun, Eric McNamarra, Linzee Brodhaecker and goalie Aidan Fuller played their hearts out and managed to keep the game close till a trio of goals in the last 3 minutes sealed a Sharks 8-4 win.  The Sharks could not afford to loose this game in such a short playoff format.  They received balanced scoring as players on both their lines picked up hatricks: Jesse Hilker and Matt Corriveau.

The final game was a back and forth affair between the Senators and Penguins.  Both teams were looking for that elusive first win.  There was no easy, loose pucks to be had as both teams seemed to battle for every inch of ice space.  The Senators had some near misses on great efforts in close by Logan Kennedy and Cam Bonneville but Atticus Vaz was up to the challenge positing the second shutout of the day.  The Penguins received the only goal they would need in a 2-0 win thanks to some great work around the crease by Brayden Braganca.
