Week 15 Recap
This weekend we had a trio of games that entertained players, coaches and fans.  There was no shortage of drama nor of exciting plays.

The first game of the day saw the Hurricanes take on the Penguins.  The play was back and forth in the first but no team was able to put the puck over the goal line.  A pair of defenders from each team stood out in the first - Melissa Sindle from the Hurricanes and Kaden Moco for the Penguins - both were dynamite on the blue line.  The teams traded a pair of goals in the second, which set up an exciting, back and forth third.  The undermanned Hurricanes received a pair of goals from substitute Dylan Corrigan, including his league leading 60th, and from Tyrus Morrissette, who passed the 40 goal plateau and added an assist.  However the Penguins, who have been surging since the Christmas tournament, would not be denied.  They tied the game moments after the Hurricanes took the lead and then Logan MccCubbin netted the winning goal with only a few minutes to go in the game.

In the second game the Sharks simply came out flying.  They were rewarded with a four goal lead, including a nifty pair from Matthew Corriveau.  The Senators netminder Jack Murphy made a number of brilliant saves and was the difference early on in this game in terms of preventing an ugly blow out.  The Senators also saw numerous break away attempts by the always speedy Cole Pearson, but to no avail as Dominick O'Handley was up to the task in the Sharks' net.  In the end the Sharks just proved too much for the Senators on this night and they were full measure for their 6-1 win, keeping up the offensive barrage they unleashed last weekend.

The final game of the night saw the top two seeded teams take to the ice.  The Devils controlled the first period and jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, including a hard working goal by Mitchell Fowlie.  The Blackhawks got themselves back in the game during the second thanks to a pair of goals by Devon Taylor.  For the Devils the difference maker on the night was Tyrus Morissette, who was filling in for a missing Devil player, as he picked up another 2 goals and an assist on the night, moving him in to second on the goal scoring race this season (leapfrogging Devon Taylor).  With time winding down and the Devils riding their fourth lead of the game, the Blackhawks Mark McGuire made a highlight reel rush through the Devil ranks and tied the game up. As regular season matches go, they really do not get more exciting than this one was.
