Week 14 Recap
The games this weekend were not models of parity.  although each game was close early on, the final scores were all definitely imbalanced.  That being said there were some great plays by players on all teams and a number of players hit some milestones of note.

The first game pitted the powerhouse Devils against the pesky Senators.  The Senators kept this close early on with a pair of goals by Logan Kennedy and Cam Hutchinson via some slick passing plays.  However, the 2-2 tie would not hold as the division leading Devils were relentless.  Justin Willsie (2g, 4a) was simply on fire with a career game, including a wicked backhander.  Additionally, a pair of goals by Daniel Hernandez pushed his season total above the 30 goal plateau for the first time in his CMHA career.  Final score, Devils 7 versus Senators 2.

The second game saw the streaking Penguins take on an undermanned Blackhawks squad.  The Penguins had a pair of goals from Tyson Barnhardt on the night but really their best player was their goalie, Atticus Vaz.  Facing wave upon wave of attacks he kept the game close for a while and certainly prevented it from getting out of hand.  Still the Blackhawks had a huge game from Mark McGuire (3g, 3a), who also passed the 30 goal plateau for the second straight season, and yet again from Dylan Corrigan (2g, 3a), who has now posted his second 100 point plus season in a row.  The final score saw the Blackhawks top the Penguins 8-3.

The final game started out close, with it tied at 1, at 2 and at 3.  The first half of the game the Hurricanes even skated toe to toe with the Sharks.  With no surprise to any who have watched this season, Tyrus Morissette would have been worth paying admission to watch as he notched a hat trick and is poised to be the third player to join the 40 goal plus plateau.  But with less than 2 minutes left to go in the second period the Hurricanes stopped skating and the wheels fell off as they say.  The Sharks went on a feeding frenzy.  Two quick goals in those final 2 minutes of the second had them leading 5-3 going in to the third and then they proceeded to post the biggest period by any team all season with 9 more goals.  Alex McCallister was the sniper of the night with 5 goals!  Matthew Corriveau (3g, 2a) may have had some of the prettiest goals of the entire night.
