Giving a Helping Hand Wednesday Jan.4th
The players have indicated they want to participate with another community agency and do more community service. We will be participating in a community event at Cambridge Shelter, 26 Simcoe St., Cambridge. Cambridge Shelter is a non-profit, charitable-United Way partner and provides many services to those less fortunate.
On Wednesday, January 4th the players along with members of the coaching staff, will assist ten community volunteers by preparing and serving supper to families, youth and small children in need. We are expected to arrive at the side door at 4:30 pm, supper is served at 5:30 and 6:15. We will help clean up and be gone no later than 7:15 pm. The players will be allotted the appropriate time for their volunteer work. When asked if there was anything else our team could do, the executive director indicated they have a need for travel toiletries, soaps, sugar, coffee, cereal, soups, etc. Any donations would be greatly appreciated even if you have any unopened items at home you won’t be using. The executive director also indicated a need for cash. This is used to buy milk for the children. She indicated that "if they don't drink milk here..they simply don't get it". The players indicated they will make a monetary donation for milk for the children. Fred
