Minor Midget, 2011-2012, AAA (Cambridge Minor Hockey)

Hawks lending a helping hand at the Cambridge Shelter.Turned out to be a great and appreciated experiance for all.Another community event our guys enjoyed.

The players have indicated they want to participate with another community agency and do more community service. We will be participating in a community event at Cambridge Shelter, 26 Simcoe St., Cambridge. Cambridge Shelter is a non-profit, charitable-United Way partner and provides many services to those less fortunate.

The Hawks had a month to remember with many successes. On the ice, we went undefeated in eleven games winning 8 and tying 3. During that streak, we won the Brantford tournament and remained in first place in Alliance East with a record of 11 wins, 4 losses and 7 ties. We were also recognized by another team in the tournament for good sportsmanship. Off the ice, our team was recognized by Trinity Anglican Church for our community service and we were able to tour the Guelph Storm facilities and interact with their coaching staff. The Cambridge Hawks Minor Midget AAA participated in the 13th Annual "Boston Pizza" Minor Midget AAA Showcase Tournament this past weekend. The team was untied/unbeaten in 6 games allowing only 6 goals against, no goals against in the semi or final game. The score of the final game was 2-0 against the host team, Brantford 99ers. The team faced adversity all weekend, they finished the final game with only 12 skaters. Three of our players, one at each position made the tournament all star team with one of the players named the tournaments MVP.

   Thursday, November 3rd, from 430 to 630 pm we will be doing some community work at Trinity Anglican Church, to rake leaves in their part of Mt View Cemetery 70 Blenheim Rd., Cambridge.
