Atom Hawks spread scoring around in two wins

The coaching staff of the Cambridge minor atom MD Hawks surely must be happy with their team’s performance last week, which saw almost every single player come out with a point.

The Hawks hosted the Kitchener Rangers on Saturday and thanks to goals from Brady Lennox, Dylan James, Tristan Worster and Kyle Parsons, cruised to a 4-0 victory.

Defence played a key role in this one, as the Hawks allowed very few shots against, while at the same time cycling the puck and offering incredible offensive support.

Cambridge then travelled to St. Catharines on Sunday to meet the Hurricanes.

Building on the success from the day before, the Hawks stuck to the same game plan and earned a 6-2 win.

Cambridge came out flying and were quickly up by a goal, before James went end-to-end and then wristed a shot into the top corner to give the Hawks some breathing room.

Aiden Joyce and Dre Amaral had two goals each for the Hawks, while Worster netted his second goal in as many games.

Solid goaltending by Jacob Lainey and Patrick Dutto stopped many scoring chances, sometimes turning aside three or more shots at a time.
