The Bantam MD Hawks won an A tournament by beating a AA team from Toronto. All the boys played their hearts out in the final to triumph by a final score of 6-2! What a great weekend for all! Check out the championship picture!

Thanks to all the players, parents, coaches and friends that helped with Trick or Eat this Halloween! It was a great success as we raised almost exactly 1500 pounds of food for the Cambridge Food Bank! We also had over $1000 in online donations and a total yet to be calculated in cash pledges! What a great event for all involved and we hope to get more next year!

Via Bill Doucet of the Cambridge Times: These birds of a feather will be flocking together on Halloween with one goal in mind – help the less fortunate.The Cambridge bantam MD Hawks, along with the coaching staff, some parents and friends, will be going door-to-door on Halloween night to collect non-perishable food items for the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank.The Hawks will be gathering the donations through Meal Exchange’s Trick or Eat program, of which team trainer Brent Thornhill is community organizer for the national program.

This Halloween, organized groups of costumed youth are going door-to-door in cities across Canada to collect donations of non-perishable food items instead of candy. Trick or Eat is Canada’s largest youth-led food drive. This year, by engaging 10,000 youth, Meal Exchange aims to collect $45,000 in online donations and $550,000 worth of food to support 100 local food banks
