HAWKS Face Hard Working 99er's Team
Thursday night the Hawks returned to the
Hespeler arena to take on the tough and hardworking Brantford 99ers. Once again the
Hawks came to play, and play they did. Quirk was strong between the
pipes and our offence and defence left everything on the ice. The first period ended with a 1-0 lead for Brantford. And, after a slow start to the game, the Hawks
came alive in the second period...
With the defense clearly communicating, they took charge of our own end, doing an excellent job of protecting the house. The second and third period saw our offence come alive with some impressive passing and some great positional play in front of Quirk. Building on that momentum, the Hawks took control of the third period, scoring four times, and outworking and the 99ers. Puck movement and timely assists from Howell, Gillies, Shewchuk, Humphrey, Cunningham-Louks and Hobson, would prove to be the difference. This is shaping up to be one exciting season. Go Hawks Go.
