Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) has invited the Kitchener, Cambridge and Waterloo AAA Minor Bantam boys to participate in this year's Toyota Hockey Challenge, with the Championship Game to be held on Saturday, November 14th at 3:00 pm at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium.
The winning team from the Toyota Hockey Challenge Championship Game will travel to Hokkaido, Japan during March Break 2016 for a cultural exchange with the Tomakomai Allstars, all expenses paid by TMMC.
In November of 2013 the Kitchener and Waterloo teams earned the right to play in the Championship Game to determine which team would travel to Japan. Over 1,000 fans were treated to a great hockey game with the Waterloo Wolves upsetting the Kitchener Jr Rangers 1-0 to earn the trip of a lifetime.
All guests of the Championship Game will be eligible to qualify for a variety of prizes to be drawn throughout the game.
March 2015 will mark the tenth time that a local team from the Waterloo Region has traveled to Japan for the exchange. A return visit by a Japanese team will be hosted in March of 2017. In 2015 the Tomakomai Allstars traveled to Waterloo, where the Wolves were victorious in two hard fought games at the Waterloo Recreation Complex.
