About the Instructor – Kevin Wheeler 

Owner & Director of the Champions Training Centre and Power Coach for 27 Years. 


Prior to becoming a professional skater, Kevin was a National Team Member for 8 years and a 2 time Canadian Champion.  In additional to being a champion figure skater, Kevin also balanced this with playing Junior hockey!  Upon turning professional, Kevin attending many national training courses and became certified to coach to the highest level, level 4, which means he is qualified to coach through to the Olympics and world championships.

 

Kevin has since trained National medalists from 7 different countries including Canada, Japan, Germany, Finland, South Africa, France and USA, and holds a National record holding team that set a new record in 2007 which still has not been beaten.  Kevin has received an award for Top Competitive Coach in Ontario as well as receiving the Sports Contributor of the Year award from the City of Cambridge in 2017.  In addition to training figure skaters, Kevin has had the opportunity to work with Hockey players at all levels including OHL level, some of who have been drafted to the NHL.  His passion is to help all of his students understand what they can do on the ice and enjoy the experience of learning.
