Midget A Hawks do it again

Hawks do it again!
For the second time this year our Cambridge Hawks Midget A team took home the gold in a tournament - this time in Pickering's Midget Madness Tourney. 

After racking up a 3-1 record in round robin play, with wins over Ajax, Georgina and London, and a 2-1 loss to Whitby, the Hawks went into Sunday's semi-final as the #1 seed. 

The semi-final against the Ottawa Sting saw some great defensive-zone play from both teams, and saw regulation time end in a 1-1 tie.  Shootout time! Cambridge took the 3 person shootout by scoring twice and allowing none against. 

In the finals against Welland, the Hawks gave up a goal in the first minute, but didn't give up, and slowly took control of the game, eventually tying it up. It was a hard fought game with both teams playing great.  Late in the third Cambridge scored again, to take a 2-1 lead and added an empty-netter with just over a minute left to seal a 3-1 victory!
