Member Engagement needed regarding twinning of Preston Auditorium
There will be a City Council Budget Meeting next Thursday, December 2nd.  At this Meeting City Staff will recommend that Preston Auditorium not be twinned and that Karl Homuth will remain open for years to come.

We want to encourage our Membership to reach out to their Council Members and the Mayor to express their opinion on this recommendation.

Here is a link to the documents to be reviewed by Council next Thursday:
Special Council Meeting Document

You can start on page 29 of the above document for details.
  • Page 33 has the 3 options presented last Spring, with Staff recommending Concept 2 back then.
  • Pages 38-43 outline Program options A to E with Staff now recommending Program option D which will not see the twinning of Preston Aud and keeping Homuth open.  Instead the current arena will be upgraded resulting in the closure of Preston Aud for up to 2 years.

Have your voice heard if you feel strongly about this new direction the City is very likely to take regarding Preston Auditorium.
