Alliance Hockey Board decided this evening to shut down all Rep games effective Fri, Dec 17th to Sun, Dec 26th. Their stance is that Rep teams can practice.
Their decision is largely due to the difference in impact that COVID is having on different regions of Alliance Hockey. Cambridge is seeing a surge but other Associations are not.
The CMHA Board met tonight to discuss going further than just Rep games.
It was decided by a majority vote to shut down all Rep, MD, Select and House League games and practices as well as the Galt Minor Hockey School effective Friday, December 17th to Sunday, December 26th.
- the numbers in Waterloo region and what we are seeing within CMHA are multiplying daily
- by pausing all hockey now, families will be better able to gather at Christmas
- give teams, who are in tournaments after Christmas, the opportunity to play in the tournaments and help give all teams the ability to play in January
This shutdown included all Association games and practices, all team purchased practices, all off ice activities including team Christmas parties and private ice activities.
The CMHA Board hopes you and your family have a safe and Happy Holiday.
