The position of Junior Vice President in the Cambridge Minor Hockey Association is currently vacant. The Association is looking to looking for volunteers who are interested in filling this position.
Below is a description of the duties as well as the qualifications required for this position.
JUNIOR VICE PRESIDENT, TRAVEL/SUPERVISOR OF COACHES – AAA & A SHALL:
a. Be responsible for the organization, implementation and monitoring a program of progressive coaching procedures for the association for AAA/A/MD.
b. Have the authority to dismiss any coach, assistant coach and trainer or manager after consulting with the Vice President, Travel.
c. Serve as the chairperson on the coaches selection committee for AAA/AA/A and the selection committee member for MD.
d. Be a registered/certified coach at large and be able to help or replace any coach for any rep team AAA/AA/A/MD if called upon by directors.
e. Fulfill duties of the Supervisor of Coaches Minor Development in the absence of the Supervisor of Coaches Minor Development.
f. Work with the Director of Hockey Development to implement and monitor a coach mentor-ship model.
Director of Hockey Development Shall:
a. Be responsible for the implementation and monitoring of a coach and player development program for the association.
b. Serve as the chairperson on the on the coach and player development committee.
c. Will work in conjunction with VP of Travel, Jr VP of Travel and Supervisor of MD coaches to implement and monitor a coach mentor-ship model.
d. Recruit and train volunteers, to perform the functions required for technical development.
e. Arrange and implement yearly coach development clinics.
f. Have an in depth knowledge of Hockey Canada's development models and current development programs.
- Strong interpersonal relationship and managerial skills, high ethical standards and leadership skills
- Strong communication skills and computer skills
- Knowledge of Hockey Canada model/structure
- Strong positive coaching education & background, recognized hockey coaching/technical experience and expertise
- Minimum coaching certification - Development 1 certified
