Cambridge Minor Hockey Association and Cambridge RedHawks Announce Exciting New Partnership
The Cambridge Minor Hockey Association and the Cambridge RedHawks are thrilled to unveil an exciting new collaboration aimed at enhancing the development and engagement of youth in hockey within Cambridge.
The Cambridge Hawks U16AAA Program will now be known as the Cambridge Jr. RedHawks U16AAA Program. This new partnership provides a development pathway for young players from minor hockey into junior. Jason Pembleton, President of the Cambridge Minor Hockey Association, sees this partnership as a way to leverage the strengths of both organizations to create new opportunities for Cambridge athletes. “This partnership actually provides the mechanism for our players to stay within the city, to play higher level, competitive hockey” he said.
U16 Jr. RedHawks Head Coach, Kevin Clancy, noted the importance of the development piece as it relates to minor hockey programming. “It’s a pathway that takes them right from the younger levels all the way right through to junior hockey” he said. “The two associations got together and made it happen, we’re super excited”.
John Morton, Past-President of Cambridge Minor Hockey Association adds “we want to give every kid in our association something to strive for… We’re trying to develop a path for our kids to follow to fulfill their dreams here in this town. This is a Hawkey town.”
