Update: Player Movement Regulations and Residency Restrictions
To our CMHA Families,

We recognize over the past several weeks there has been a lot of conversation about Player Movement Regulations and the impact this will have on associations and registration for next season. The reality is there is still a great deal of uncertainty as to what this impact on rep hockey in Ontario, and Cambridge in particular, will be. We want to be clear that we remain committed to being the home for Cambridge players, from our house league program to AAA levels.

With the recent announcement of open borders from the OHF, we have had to make some thoughtful decisions regarding the future of our organization. At this time, CMHA has decided that we will not be putting any residency restrictions on our teams for the 2025-26 season at any level of programming. This decision comes after much reflection on the evolving landscape of hockey and our goal to continue providing opportunities for all players. We believe this will allow CMHA to remain competitive and continue fostering growth in the sport within our community. The Board remains flexible with regard to this issue and it will be subject to further review once some clarity with regard to the impact of open borders is further understood. We are excited for the continued success of our players and organization in the upcoming season.

We appreciate your understanding and support as we navigate these changes,
