Welcome to the Jr. Hawks Nest – U7
Cambridge Minor Hockey House League provides the opportunity for players to enjoy “The Great Game of Hockey”.
Our league is run by a very dedicated group of volunteers. They endeavor to create a FUN and safe environment, where players are taught the knowledge and skills required to play the game, along with instilling in them the values of sportsmanship, discipline, hard work, dedication, team play and respect.
Each division has a Convener, and every team is assigned a bench staff that is made up of a Head Coach, an Assistant coach, and a Trainer. All volunteers are subject to a mandatory Vulnerable Sector Check and are required to take Respect in Sport, (a harassment and abuse course), Gender Identification and Expression course. In addition, Head Coaches and Trainers are required to complete nationally recognized certification clinics.
Hockey Canada and CMHA follow a specific U7 player pathway where we work on specific core skills at practices. You can find the U7 Pathway and Core Skills below:

Our Jr. Hawks Development introduces Cross-Ice hockey, which keeps the players engaged and on the ice. October and November are strictly development months that focus on skating and using blue pucks. Games will be played Cross-Ice from the end of November through March.
