ZACH FERRIS
Getting to know Coach Zach:
What inspired you to become a hockey coach?
I had some concussion problems that no longer allowed me to continue playing but love the game and wanted to stay involved so decided to take up coaching, at first with my dad but continued on.
How do you foster team culture?
Keep the environment positive and ensure each member of the team is included/important to team success, regardless of their “role”.
What does it feel like to be coached by me?
With players feeling a sense of belonging and keeping the environment positive, they enjoy coming to the rink and improving their hockey skills.
What do you want your players to learn or take away from this season?
Have every individual grow, not just their hockey skills but as people as well.
Who is your favorite NHL team?
Toronto Maple Leafs
Who is your favorite retired player? Favorite Current Player?
My favourite retired player is Mikhail Grabovski and my favourite current player is William Nylander.
