INTRODUCING OUR U10 AA/A HEAD COACH FOR THE 2026-2027 SEASON
TYLER HARDING
Getting to know Coach Tyler:
What inspired you to become a hockey coach?
I became a hockey coach because I’m passionate about learning and love helping young athletes grow—not just in hockey, but as leaders and individuals.
How do you foster team culture?
I emphasize team-first values. Collective effort always outweighs individual talent, and I strive to nurture cohesion, trust, and shared responsibility among my athletes. Respect is central to my philosophy: respect for teammates, opponents, officials, and the game itself. Good sportsmanship is non-negotiable—how we play matters just as much as the scoreboard.

What does it feel like to be coached by me?
My coaching approach is process oriented. I prioritize player development over win-loss records, knowing that long-term success is built on growth, not short-term outcomes. Each practice, game, and season is part of a journey where athletes learn, improve, and embrace challenges. I encourage a growth mindset, teaching players to see failure not as defeat but as an opportunity to learn and move forward. Along with development, I promote fun and the fun of learning - as we build together, we will make lasting friendships and enjoy the process.

What do you want your players to learn or take away from this season?
I want my players to broaden their understanding of the game—both on and off the ice—while deepening their love for hockey. My goal is to help them grow into strong leaders, supportive teammates, and respectful competitors

Who is your favorite NHL team?
Toronto Maple Leafs
Who is your favorite retired player? Favorite Current Player?
Doug Gilmour. I’ve always admired his underdog story—he was often overlooked, yet he proved himself through relentless work ethic, grit, and heart. He went on to become a key player for my favourite team and showed that determination and character can outperform expectations. That combination of skill, leadership, and resilience is what makes him my favorite retired NHL player.
That is a tough question as there are so many great players, but I’d have to say Sidney Crosby. It has been a pleasure watching his career both in the NHL and as a part of team Canada. I have so much respect for what he has accomplished as a hockey player.

2026 Stanley Cup Champs are...
Colorado Avalanche

Who is your favorite music artist?
Calvin Harris and Swedish House Mafia

Away from the rink you will most likely find me...
Likely at another arena watching one of my other children play hockey but, in the offseason, I enjoy time at the beach, golfing or sitting by the fire.
