JASON ALEXANDER 
Getting to know Coach Jason:
What inspired you to become a hockey coach?
I coach to inspire players to reach their full potential and to pay forward the mentorship that shaped who I am today.
How do you foster team culture?
We build a strong team culture through clear communication, defined expectations, and ensuring every player understands their role and how it contributes to our team’s success.

What does it feel like to be coached by me?
Players describe me as fair, honest, and clear in my expectations, and I expect a strong work ethic every day, regardless of the outcome.

What do you want your players to learn or take away from this season?
My goal is to help players develop the skills and hockey IQ needed to compete at the next level, should they choose to pursue it, while fostering a lasting passion for the game. I want them to leave the season with meaningful personal growth, both on and off the ice, that prepares them for future paths in education, work, or life experiences

Who is your favorite NHL team?
Edmonton Oilers
Who is your favorite retired player? Favorite Current Player?
Jaromir Jagr – He was an elite puck possession power forward who had high hockey IQ and capable of controlling the game.
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins – He is a “Swiss Army knife “strong hockey IQ, playmaking abilities, and key contributions on both the power play and penalty kill.

Who is your favorite music artist?
Currently the Lumineers, Arkells, Always Tragically Hip

At home, I spend a lot of time at the rink

Anything else you want people to know about you?
I have coached competitive hockey for 15 years and believe that participating in a team sport helps prepare players for real world expectations. Hockey teaches accountability, responsibility, and the value of contributing to a collective goal.
