The Hawks entered game 3 of the playoffs with much anticipation having beat the hurricanes previously.  The Hawks jumped out of the gates strong and carried much of the play during the first period.  They finally were rewarded as Blake Davidson (Big Deal), put the homeside up by 1 (from Fraser, and Tasker).  The Hawks continued to swarm the net and their effort was rewarded as Owen "Rocket" Rivard scored the second goal of the game (Leslie drew the lone assist).  The seond period saw the Hurricanes come on stronger and goaltender Cameron Martin stood his ground making some timely saves.  The Hawks finally stayed out of the penalty box long enough to have Rivard race down the boards and out muscle a defenceman feeding a pass across the crease to a wide open Cole Greco (Dougie),  making the score 3-0 after 2.  The Hawks continued the pressure in the 3rd as Davidson scored his second of the game (macdonald, fraser his second assist) and Macdonald-MacAttack put the home side up by 5 (tasker his second assist and Jonas) .  The only thing that remained was the goose egg and Martin stood tall with a breakaway save with 1:13 remaining to preserve the Shutout.
A complete team effort!!!  Special mentions to the monster of the game Tim Gushue (GUSHUE TRAIN), for his willingness to compete and hard work each and every shift.  Riley Jenkins (speed), returned from injury and provided some speed and pucks to the net!!!  Matti Rajamaki (FF/Finish Flash),was especially good in the first with tight containment of the St Kitts forwards and blocking shots.  Cameron Martin posted the Hawks first shutout of the season.
Game 4 of the playoffs is Feb 19 in Burlington.
