This was considered the biggest game of the year, as the Hawks were 4pts back of moving on to the next round.  The Hawks didn't disappoint as they carried the majority of the play and held a 2-1 shot advantage by the end of the game. 
Down 1-0 and the second period coming close to an end the Hawks scored their first short handed goal of the season as Aidan MacDonald banged home a rebound off a clever interception and shot by Cole Greco.  The second period ended 1-1 and the Hawks were building momentum.  The third period was much the same as the first 2 as the Hawks almost converted 10 seconds in after Riley Jenkins was able to move around 2 Hamilton defenders and fire a low hard shot that was labelled for the left corner but the Cyclones goalie was equal to the task.  The Hawks went down by 1 on a controversial non call for body contact against Liam Cain.  The body contact caused a loose puck and allowed Hamilton to go ahead by 1.  From there the Hawks pushed and pushed, eventually this pressure caused them to give up an odd man rush and Hamilton converted, 3-1 the visitors.
Despite the Loss the boys know it was by far their most complete game of the year.
The Hawks are in the Gene Harrington Classic this weekend ready to take on all sides of the border.  Upon returning they finish the season with 4 games in 7 days.
